A preset is a named bundle of print settings, such as "Class Set" or "Parent Letter". Teachers pick a preset instead of choosing paper, sides and staples one at a time. Presets are managed on the Presets page by administrators.
Create one
- Choose New preset.
- Name, for example "Class Set".
- Default printer. Pick a printer, or Let the teacher choose.
- Description, shown to teachers under the preset name, for example "Double-sided, stapled, black and white. The everyday classroom run."
- Paper: Letter, Legal, Ledger / Tabloid, A4 or A3.
- Sides: Single-sided, Double-sided, or Double-sided, flip short edge.
- Colour: Black and white, Colour, or Automatic.
- Finishing: Stapled, Double stapled, Three-hole punched, Folded. These are only offered on printers that proved they can do it.
- Skip copy room review, if this preset should go straight to the printer. This only takes effect when your review setting is "By preset", and the sheet limit still applies.
- Choose Create preset.
What happens on save
KyberCopy checks the preset against every printer and reports "Saved, N of M printers can do this". Any printer that cannot is listed with the reason, for example that it is black and white only or does not offer that finishing. A teacher who picks a printer that cannot do the preset is told at submit time, before anything prints.
Editing and deleting
Each preset shows how many jobs have used it. Editing a preset changes new requests only; jobs already in the queue keep printing exactly as they are. Delete asks you to tap again to confirm.
The first preset matters
The first preset in the list is the default for new requests and the one used for requests that arrive by email. Put the everyday one first.
