What KyberCopy is and who uses it

KyberCopy is a copy room service for schools. Teachers send print requests from a web portal or by email. Each request arrives in the copy room queue already set up for the right printer and the right finishing, so copy room staff check it and press Print.

How it is set up

KyberCopy runs in two halves. The web portal, queue, and settings run in the cloud. A small relay agent runs on a computer inside your school network and talks to your printers. The relay only makes outbound connections, so nothing has to be opened on your firewall. See Connecting your printers with the relay agent for details.

Who uses it

Every person added to a school in KyberCopy has one of four roles. The role decides what they see.

  • Teacher. Sends work to the copy room and sees their own requests. This is the role most people have.
  • Copy room staff. Runs the queue, prints, marks finishing done, and hands work over. Copy room staff also see Printers, People and Reports.
  • IT administrator. Everything above, plus printers, presets, forms and people.
  • Account owner. Everything, plus billing and invoices.

What each role sees

Teachers see Jobs, Finishing and Printers. Their Jobs page is My requests, which lists only their own work. If a teacher opens the copy room queue by an old link, KyberCopy sends them to My requests instead.

Copy room staff and administrators open the copy room queue, called Print requests, on the Jobs page. Administrators also get Presets, Departments, Approvals, People, Reports and Copy room settings in the side navigation.

Your school's address

Each school has its own address on kybercopy.com, for example yourschool.kybercopy.com. Everyone at the school signs in there. A person can belong to more than one school, and each school is kept separate.
