Submitting a job by email

If your school has turned on email requests, you can send a document to the copy room by email instead of using the portal.

Where to send it

Send to the copy room mailbox your school already uses, for example copyroom@yourschool.org. Your school forwards that mailbox to KyberCopy. Ask your copy room if you do not know the address.

How your email is matched to you

KyberCopy looks at the address you sent from. It must belong to a person already added to the school in KyberCopy. If it does not, the request is refused and you receive a reply saying so. Email addresses are easy to forge, so membership is the real check. Your school may also limit senders to its own email domain.

Attachments

Attach the document you want printed. PDF and Word files are the safest choice. Small images and email signatures are ignored. If no printable attachment is found, or the files are over your school's size limit, you get a reply explaining why and no request is created.

What KyberCopy reads from your message

KyberCopy reads plain instructions from the subject and body, for example "35 copies, double sided, stapled". Only clear phrases are applied. Anything uncertain is shown to the copy room for confirmation rather than acted on. If no copy count is found, the request is created with 1 copy, so a misread never prints hundreds of copies.

Email requests use your school's first preset and its printer. If you ask for something KyberCopy cannot do automatically, such as laminating, the request is put on hold so a person reads your note before anything prints.

Quoted replies and signatures are ignored, so forwarding an old thread will not pick up last month's instructions.

What you get back

You receive a confirmation email with the request number and the number of copies KyberCopy read. If the printer cannot handle the request as sent, you get a reply saying the copy room has not received it. The request also appears in My requests with a note showing exactly what was read from your message.
