Open My requests and choose New request. The copy room sees the request the moment you send it.
Fill in the form
- Documents. Attach the file to print. PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, OpenDocument, RTF, plain text, CSV, JPEG and PNG all work. Office files are converted to PDF when you send. Attach the final version, because the copy room prints exactly what you send.
- What is it? A title. KyberCopy fills this in from the first file name, and you can change it.
- How should it print? Pick a preset. Each preset is a full set of settings the copy room already tested on the machine: paper, sides, staples. You do not choose these one by one. If you see "No presets set up yet", ask your copy room administrator.
- How many copies?
- When do you need it? Jobs are worked in deadline order. Some schools require a date; if so the field is marked with an asterisk.
- Printer. Shown only when your school has more than one printer. The preset may pick one for you. The copy room can move the job to another machine if needed.
- Anything done by hand? Laminating, binding or cutting, if your copy room offers them. Tick the service, say how many, and add any detail.
- Anything the copy room should know? Free text, for example which pages are landscape.
- This is urgent. Flags the job red for the copy room. Use it when the deadline alone does not say enough.
Choose Send to copy room. You can cancel while files are still uploading, and your answers are kept.
Your school may replace some of these questions with its own form. The same rules apply.
What is checked before you send
KyberCopy checks the request before any paper moves, while you can still fix it.
- At least one document is attached.
- Each file is a printable type and under your school's size limit. The message names the file and the limit.
- Required questions, including the needed-by date if your school requires one, are answered. This is checked before the upload starts.
- The copy count is within your school's limit.
- The chosen printer can actually do the job. If it cannot, you see "That printer cannot do this job as requested" and a list of reasons, for example that the printer is black and white only or does not have that paper loaded.
Sending the same thing again
On a finished request, Send again creates a new request with the same documents and the same print settings. You only choose the number of copies and, if your school requires it, a date.
