Using Focus Mode (whitelist)

Focus Mode restricts students to only the websites you specify. Everything else is blocked.

When to Use

  • During research assignments (only allow specific sources)
  • Standardized testing (only allow the test platform)
  • Presentations (only allow Google Slides or PowerPoint)
  • When students keep getting distracted

Setting Up Focus Mode

  • Start a new KyberClassroom session
  • Select "Focus" mode
  • Enter the allowed domains (e.g., "docs.google.com", "khanacademy.org")
  • Start the session

During Focus Mode

  • Students can ONLY access the domains you listed
  • All other websites show the KyberGate block page with a message: "Your teacher has enabled Focus Mode"
  • You can add or remove domains from the whitelist during the session
  • The timer shows how long Focus Mode has been active

Exiting Focus Mode

End the session or switch to Monitor mode. Students immediately get their normal internet access back.
