How KyberGate protects student data under FERPA.
Our Commitments
- We do not sell student data
- We do not use student data for advertising
- We do not build profiles beyond what's needed for filtering
- We operate as a "school official" under FERPA
What We Collect
- Domain names and URLs visited
- Timestamps and filter actions (allowed/blocked)
- Device identifiers (UDID, IP)
- Safety-related search queries (KyberPulse only)
What We Do NOT Collect
- Page content or body text
- Keystrokes or form submissions
- Passwords or personal communications
- Location data beyond IP-based campus detection
Data Retention
- Browsing logs: 90 days (configurable)
- Safety alerts: 1 school year
- Account data: duration of subscription
- Post-termination: all data deleted within 30 days
Data Processing Agreement
We sign DPAs with school districts as required by state law. Contact privacy@kybergate.com to request one.
