Understanding content categories

KyberGate categorizes web content into categories that you can block or allow per policy.

Categories

  • Adult Content — Pornography, explicit sexual content, nudity
  • Social Media — Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter/X, Reddit
  • Gaming — Online browser games, game hosting platforms (detected by our 7-layer AI engine)
  • Streaming — YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, Disney+, Hulu
  • Proxy/VPN — Web proxies, VPN services, anonymizers (tools used to bypass filters)
  • Violence — Graphic violence, gore, weapons
  • Drugs & Alcohol — Drug-related content, alcohol, tobacco, vaping
  • Gambling — Online gambling, betting sites
  • Malware — Known malicious sites, phishing domains

How Categorization Works

KyberGate uses multiple methods:

  • Domain database — 200+ pre-categorized domains updated regularly
  • URL pattern matching — Keywords and patterns in URLs
  • AI content classifier — ONNX-based model analyzes page content in real-time
  • Game engine detection — Identifies Unity, Phaser, Godot, and 30+ other game frameworks in page HTML

Custom Categories

You can create custom rules in Policy Manager to block or allow specific domains regardless of their automatic category.
